In the June 2 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 130 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 130 new cases, there are 8 in the Far North West zone, 13 in the North West zone, 8 in the North Central zone, 7 in the North East zone, 46 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 2 in the Central East zone, 22 in the Regina zone, 12 in the South Central zone, and 7 in the South East zone.

There are 2 new cases in the South West zone, both in the South West subzone 1.

There are 2 new cases with pending residence information.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 46,964, of which 1,285 are considered active.

There are 38 active cases in the South West zone - 7 in the South West subzone 1, and 31 in the South West sub zone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID -19 cases is 131 (10.7 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 116 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 45,138.

There is 1 new death reported in the 70-79 age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 541.

There are 103 people in the hospital. Eighty-one people are receiving in patient care - 6 in the North West zone, 6 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 34 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, 26 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 2 in the South East zone.

There are 2 people receiving inpatient care in the South West zone.

There are 22 people in intensive care - 1 in the North West zone, 3 in the North Central zone, 10 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 6 in the Regina zone, and 1 in the South Central zone.

To date, 865,803 COVID-19 tests have been processed in the province.

And yesterday, there were 2,798 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 1 there were a total of 10,812 variants of concern cases identified by screening in Saskatchewan - 244 in the Far North West zone, 46 in the Far North East zone, 609 in the North West zone, 475 in the North Central zone, 60 in the North East zone, 1,700 in the Saskatoon zone, 109 in the Central West zone, 597 in the Central East zone, 4,670 in the Regina zone, 778 in the South Central zone, and 1,077 in the South East zone.

There are a total of 381 reported in the South West zone.

There are 66 screened variants of concern cases with residence pending.

There were 81 new lineage results reported.

Of the 5,794 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in Saskatchewan 5,594 are B.1.1.1.7 (UK), 159 are P.1 (Brazilian), 31 are B.1.617 (Indian), and 10 are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 9,299 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 740,251.

Of the 9,299 vaccines given, there were 394 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-seven percent of residents over the age of 40, 71% over the age of 30, and 66% of those over 18 have received their first vaccine doses, while 63% of those 12 years and older have also received their first dose.

This week's shipment of 74,880 Pfizer doses is expected to arrive in the province today.

These doses will be distributed to Saskatoon, Regina, Prince Albert, North Battleford, Indigenous Services Canada North, ISC South, ISC North Battleford, Northern Inter-Tribal Health Authority Prince Albert and pharmacies throughout the province.
