In the June 24 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 52 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 52 new cases there are 4 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 1 in the Far North East zone, 10 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 10 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central West zone, 4 in the Central East zone, 9 in the Regina zone and 3 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

There is 1 case with residence information pending.

One case has been reassigned to the Regina zone.

One case has been added to the Regina zone from a Saskatchewan resident tested out of the province.

That brings the total provincial number of cases to 48,590, of which 605 are considered active.

There are 5 active cases in the South West zone -1 in the South West subzone 1, and 4 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 55 (4.5 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are no new deaths reported, leaving that provincial total at 565.

There are 55 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 47,420.

There are 76 people in the hospital. Sixty-two of those people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 6 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 29 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 13 in the Regina zone, and 3 in the South Central zone.

There are 14 people in intensive care - 2 in the North West zone, 2 in the North Central zone, 5 in the Saskatoon zone, and 5 in the Regina zone.

To date, there has been 907,701 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And on June 23 there were 1,834 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 22 there are a total of 12,035 variants of concern cases in the province that have been identified by screening - 301 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 83 in the Far North East zone, 787 in the North West zone, 621 in the North Central zone, 79 in the North East zone, 2,090 in the Saskatoon zone, 145 in the Central West zone, 644 in the Central East zone, 4,783 in the Regina zone, 887 in the South Central zone, and 1,134 in the South East zone.

There are a total of 399 in the South West zone.

There are 81 screened variants of concern cases with residences pending.

There are no new lineage results reported.

Of the 6,904 variants of concern with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 6,476 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 293 are Gamma (P.1), 125 are Delta (B.1.617.2), and 10 are Beta (B.1.351).

In The Weekly Monitoring Report for Children and Youth aged  0-19 years, for the week of  June 7 to 13, there are 217 active cases in the province.

Of those 217 active cases there are 5 in the Far North West zone, 11 in the Far North East zone, 25 in the North West zone, 21 in the North Central zone, 7 in the North East zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 10 in the Central East zone, 55 in the Saskatoon zone, 35 in the Regina zone, 22 in the South Central zone, and17 in the South East zone.

There are 7 cases reported in the South West zone -1 in the South West subzone 1, and 6 in the South West subzone 2.

An additional 24,971 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number administered to 1,048,669.

Of those 24,971 vaccine doses, there were 1,101 administered in the South West zone.

Eight percent of those over the age of 40, 75% of those over 30, 71% of those over 18, and 69% of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose.

Saskatchewan has received an additional confirmed Moderna allocation for the week of June 28. With the largest shipment to date, Saskatchewan has been allocated 120,960 doses.

With the Delta variant circulating in the province, it remains recommended that all residents receive their second dose vaccination as soon as they are eligible.
