In the June 3 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 131 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 131 new cases there are 5 in the Far North West zone, 11 in the Far North East zone, 14 in the North West zone, 7 in the North Central zone, 7 in the North East zone, 34 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central West zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 21 in the Regina zone, 12 in the South Central zone, and 11 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

There are 4 new cases with residence pending information.

Two cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 to the North Central zone and 1 to the South West zone.

Two cases tested out of the province have been added as follows - 1 to the Saskatoon zone, and 1 to the South East zone.

 One case in Saskatoon was reassigned to the North Central zone, 1 case from the Central West zone was reassigned to Saskatoon, and 20 cases from the South East zone were reassigned to the South Central  zone, including 19 resolved and one death.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 47,097, of which 1,314 are   considered active.

There are 37 active cases in the South West zone - 6 in the South West subzone 1, and 31 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers is 133 (10.9 new cases per 100,000 population).

There were two new deaths reported, both in the 80+ age group from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 543.

There were 102 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 45,240.

There are 100 people in the hospital. Seventy-seven people are receiving inpatient care - 9 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 33 in the Saskatoon zone, 3 in the Central East zone, 21 in the Regina zone, 2 in the South Central zone, and 2 in the South East zone.

There is 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone.

There are 23 people in intensive care, including 2 out of the province transfers from Manitoba - 2 in the North Central zone, 10 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, and 7 in the Regina zone.

There are 2 people in intensive care in the South West zone.

To date, there has been 868,090 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan

And yesterday there were 2,287 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 2 there were a total of 10,986 variants of concern cases identified by screening in the province - 250 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 48 in the Far North East zone, 631 in the North West zone, 497 in the North Central zone, 62 in the North East zone,1,788 in the Saskatoon zone, 110 in the Central West zone, 607 in the Central East zone, 4,678 in the Regina zone, 785 in the South Central zone, and 1,079 in the South East zone.

There is a total of 384 variants of concern cases in the South West zone.

There are 66 screened variants of concern cases with residence pending.

There are no new lineage results reported.

Of the 5,794 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing, 5,594 are B.1.1.1.7(UK), 159 are P.1 (Brazilian), 31 are B.1.617 (Indian), and 10 are B.1.351(SA).

The Weekly Monitoring Report for Children and Youth aged 0 to 19 years for the week of May 24-30 has been released.

There are a total of 490 active cases in children and youth, with 3 having unknown location/residence information.

Of those 490 cases there are 14 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 11 in the Far North East zone, 49 in the North West zone, 54 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 5 in the Central West zone, 45 in the Central East zone, 145 in the Saskatoon zone, 84 in the Regina zone, 32 in the South Central zone, and 37 in the South East zone.

There are 21 cases reported in the South West zone- 9 in the South West subzone 1, and 12 in the South West subzone 2.

Trends of COVID-19 cases in schools for the previous 14 days shows that, in the South West zone, there were case counts at The Tompkins School, The Gull Lake High School, The Eastend School, and in Swift Current at Central School, O.M. Irwin School, All Saints Catholic School, The Swift Current Comprehensive High School, and 1 case reported on a school bus from O.M. Irwin School.

An additional 14,579 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 754,830.

Over 100,000 residents in the province are now fully vaccinated.

Of the 14,579 vaccine doses given, there were 558 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-seven percent of those over the age of 40, 72% of those over 30, and 66% of those over 18 have received their first dose, while 63% of those 12 and over have also received their first dose.

Saskatchewan is expecting to receive 12,400 doses of Moderna this week. All deliveries are expected later today, with the exception of the shipment going to Weyburn (900 doses) which will be delivered June 4.
