In the June 7 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 68 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 68 new cases there are 2 in the Far North East zone, 12 in the North West zone, 9 in the North Central zone, 1 in the North East zone, 15 in the Saskatoon zone, 13 in the Central East zone, 9 in the Regina zone, and 7 in the South Central zone.

There are no new cases reported in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 47,427, of which 1,142 cases are considered active. That is the lowest active case total since November 8, 2020.

There are 32 active cases in the South West zone - 8 in the South West subzone 1, and 24 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 97 (7.9 new cases per 100,000 population). This is the lowest active case total since November 8, 2020.

There are 119 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 45,736.

There are 3 new deaths reported. One death was in the 60-69 age group in the North Central zone, 1 death was reported in the 19 and under age group in the North West zone, and 1 death was reported in the 70-79 age group , also in the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 549.

There are 102 people in the hospital. Eighty-three people are receiving inpatient care - 2 in the Far North West zone, 10 in the North West zone, 4 in the North Central zone, 27 in the Saskatoon zone, 1 in the Central West zone, 4 in the Central East zone, 30 in the Regina zone, 3 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There is 1 person receiving inpatient care in the South West zone.

There are 19 people in intensive care, including 1 out of the province transfer from Manitoba - 1 in the North Central zone, 10 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, and 6 in the Regina zone.

To date, there has been 875,795 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 1,265 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 6 there were a total of 11,253 variants of concern cases identified by screening in the province - 264 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 66 in the Far North East zone, 666 in the North West zone, 514 in the North Central zone, 68 in the North East zone, 1,877 in the Saskatoon zone, 115 in the Central West zone, 613 in the Central East zone, 4,698 in the Regina zone, 819 in the South Central zone, and 1,098 in the South East zone.

There were a total of 386 in the South West zone.

There are 68 screened variants of concern cases with residence pending.

No new lineage results were reported.

Of the 5,987 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 5,753 are B.1.1.1.7(UK), 187 are P.1 (Brazilian), 37 are B.1.617 (Indian), and 10 are B.1.351 (SA).

An additional 8,628 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number administered in the province to 809,400.

Of the 8,628 vaccine doses given, there were 278 in the South West zone.

Seventy-eight percent of those over the age of 40, 72% of those over 30, 67% of those over 18, and 65% of those twelve and over have received their first vaccine dose.

Saskatchewan is expecting to receive 74,880 doses of Pfizer and 3,000 doses of Moderna this week.
