In the June 8 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting 90 new cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 90 new cases there are 4 in the Far North West zone, 4 in the Far North East zone, 15 in the North West zone, 15 in the North Central zone, 7 in the North East zone, 14 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central West zone, 1 in the Central East zone, 16 in the Regina zone, 3 in the South Central zone, and 5 in the South East zone.

There are no new cases reported today in the South West zone.

There are 2 new cases with pending residence information.

Eight cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 7 to the North West zone and 1 to the Regina zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 47,517, of which 1,053 are considered active.

There are 21 active cases in the South West zone - 7 in the South West subzone 1, and 14 in the South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 97 (7.9 new cases per 100,000 population).

There are 177 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 45,913.

There are 2 new deaths reported, both in the 80+ age group - 1 from the North Central zone, and 1 from the North West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of deaths to 551.

There are 104 people in the hospital. Eighty-six people are receiving inpatient care - 1 in the Far North West zone, 13 in the North West zone, 5 in the North Central zone, 26 in the Saskatoon zone, 4 in the Central East zone, 30 in the Regina zone, 4 in the South Central zone, and 1 in the South East zone.

There are 2 people receiving inpatient care in the South West zone.

There are 18 people in intensive care, including one out of the province transfer from Manitoba - 1 in the North West zone, 1 in the North Central zone, 8 in the Saskatoon zone, 2 in the Central East zone, and 6 in the Regina zone.

To date, 877,438 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 1,643 COVID-19 tests processed.

As of June 7 there are a total of 11,347 variants of concern cases identified by screening in the province - 268 in the Far North West zone, 1 in the Far North Central zone, 69 in the Far North East zone,, 693 in the North West zone, 522 in the North Central zone, 71 in the North East zone, 1,893 in the Saskatoon zone, 116 in the Central West zone, 619 in the Central East zone, 4,709 in the Regina zone, 829 in the South Central zone, and 1,103 in the South East zone.

There are a total of 388 in the South West zone.

There are 66 screened variants of concern cases with residence pending.

There are 128 new lineage results reported.

Of the 6,115 variants of concern cases with lineages identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 5,866 are B.1.1.1.7(UK), 194 are P.1 (Brazilian), 45 are B.1.617 (Indian), and 10 are B.1.351(SA).

An additional 6,724 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been given in the province, bringing the total number of vaccines administered to 816,124.

Of those 6,724 doses given, there were 22 administered in the South West zone.

Seventy-eight percent of those over the age of 40, 72% of those over 30, 68% of those over 18, and 65% of those over 12 have received their first vaccine dose.

Saskatchewan is expecting to receive 74,880 doses of Pfizer vaccines this week.

In the last day, a total of 10,794 vaccination appointments have been booked with SHA clinics across the province.
