The month of March is Pharmacy Appreciation Month and in these difficult times, it's especially important to recognize their contributions to the community.

Tenille Gering, Pharmacy Manager and Store Operator at Pharmasave in Swift Current says that Pharmacy Appreciation Month is a national campaign in Canada to celebrate the roles of pharmacies in the community.

Gering says this is of the utmost importance in the times we are living.

"Right now with the COVID-19 pandemic, pharmacists and their support teams have really stepped up in the way that they serve their communities. Throughout the month of March at Pharamasave, we will be celebrating all of our wonderful staff and the great work they do."

In regards to the local Pharmasave specifically, Gering says they have done a number of things to help the community.

"The team really shifted their focus just to caring for the community. We did small things like offering curbside pick up, expanding our delivery service from just pharmacy items to any over the counter or grocery items that our customers would need."

In addition, Gering says they are also a part of the Change The Narrative Initiative which honors front-line health care workers for all the work they do.

Gering adds that they are always looking to go the extra mile for their customers and that overall they have helped the community by continuing to be accessible during these times via delivery service or answering questions or concerns and providing COVID information to customers.
