In the October 21 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 355 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 355 new cases there are 14 in the Far North West zone, 13 in the Far North East zone, 53 in the North West zone, 34 in the North Central zone, 8 in the North East zone, 89 in the Saskatoon zone, 5 in the Central West zone, 34 in the Central East zone, 38 in the Regina zone, 11 in the South Central zone, and 21 in the South East zone.

There are 9 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 8 in South West subzone 1, and 1 in South West subzone 2.

There are 26 new cases with pending residence information.

Twenty-four cases with pending residence information have been assigned as follows - 1 to the Far North East zone, 4 to the North West zone, 5 to the North Central zone, 2 to the Central East zone, 11 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South Central zone.

More than one-quarter (28.5%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 age category.

Just over one-third (34.0%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 313 (26.0 new cases per 100,000 population).

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 75,540, of which 3,104 are considered active.

There are 71 active cases in the South West zone - 31 in South West subzone 1, and 40 in South West subzone 2.

The Weekly Monitoring Report for children aged 0 to 19 years for the week of October 4-10 reports the provincial total number of active cases in children and youth at 1,603, of which 41 have location/residence information unavailable.

There are 61 cases in the Far North West zone, 4 in the Far North Central zone, 86 in the Far North East zone, 263 in the North West zone, 145 in the North Central zone, 55 in the North East zone, 18 in the Central West zone, 118 in the Central East zone, 366 in the Saskatoon zone, 198 in the Regina zone,45 in the South Central zone, and 140 in the South East zone.

There are 76 cases in the South West zone - 28 in the South West subzone 1, and 48 in the South West subzone 2.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has informed the Chinook School Division on October 20 of 2 new COVID-19 cases - 1  in Central School in Swift Current, and 1 in Herbert School.

Chinook Schools currently on remote learning include all classes at the Hodgeville School (returning November 1), and all classes at the Fairview School in Swift Current (returning October 25).

There were 423 recoveries reported, 21 of those in the South West zone, bringing the provincial total number of recoveries to 71,636.

There were 2 new deaths reported, bringing that provincial total to 800.

There are 322 in the hospital - 246 receiving inpatient care, and 76 in intensive care.

Of those 322 patients, 236 (73.3%) were not fully vaccinated.

Three additional patients have been transferred to Ontario, for a total of 6 Saskatchewan cases who have been transferred out of the province.

To date, there has been 1,202,679 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday there were 3,241 COVID-19 tests processed in the province.

Of the 13,437 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing in the province, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 484 are Gamma (P.1), and 5,820 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

There were 3,839 COVID-19 vaccinations given yesterday, 100 of them in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccines administered to 1,634,499.

There are 773,207 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
