In the September 16 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 439 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 439 new cases there are 22 in the Far North West zone, 39 in the Far North East zone, 61 in the North West zone, 42 in the North Central zone, 11 in the North East zone, 124 in the Saskatoon zone, 8 in the Central West zone, 29 in the Central East zone, 28 in the Regina zone, 7 in the South Central zone, and 38 in the South East zone.

There are 5 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 1 in the South West subzone 1, and 4 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 25 new cases with pending residence information.

Twenty cases with pending resident information have been reassigned as follows - 1 to the Far North West zone, 3 to the Far North East zone, 2 to the North West zone, 9 to the North Central zone, 2 to the North East zone, 1 to the Saskatoon zone, 1 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South Central zone. 

One Saskatchewan resident tested out of the province was added to the case counts in the Regina zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 60,589, of which 4,064 are considered active.

There are 87 active cases in the South West zone - 39 in South West subzone 1, and 48 in South West subzone 2.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 438 (36.4 new cases per 100,000 population).

One-third (33.3%) of the new cases are in the 19 years and under age category.

Of the 10,825 variants of concern cases reported by whole genome sequencing, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 482 are Gamma (P.1), and 3,210 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

There was one new death reported, bringing that provincial total number to 630.

There were 391 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 55,895.

There are 218 people in the hospital - 170 receiving inpatient care, and 48 in intensive care.

Of the 218 patients, 160 (73.4%) were not fully vaccinated.

To date there have been 1,078,107 COVID-19 tests processed in Saskatchewan.

Yesterday there were 3,753 COVID-19 tests processed.

There have been 2,595 COVID-19 vaccines administered yesterday, 75 of those in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccines given to 1,508,026.

There are 712,354 Saskatchewan residents who are fully vaccinated.
