In the September 17 COVID-19 update from The Saskatchewan Health Authority they are reporting a total of 472 new confirmed cases of the virus in the province.

Of those 472 new confirmed cases there are 16 in the Far North West zone, 26 in the Far North East zone, 60 in the North West zone, 27 in the North Central zone, 23 in the North East zone, 80 in the Saskatoon zone, 9 in the Central West zone, 24 in the Central East zone, 54 in the Regina zone, 34 in the South Central zone, and 46 in the South East zone.

There are 27 new confirmed cases in the South West zone - 12 in the South West subzone 1, and 15 in the South West subzone 2.

There are 46 new cases with pending residence information.

Nineteen cases with pending residence information have been reassigned as follows - 2 to the Far North West zone, 2 to the Far North East zone, 4 to the North West zone, 1 to the North Central zone, 6 to the North East zone, 1 to the Central West zone, 1 to the Central East zone, 1 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South Central zone.

Four Saskatchewan residents tested out of the province were added as follows - 2 to the Saskatoon zone, 1 to the Regina zone, and 1 to the South Central zone.

That brings the provincial total number of cases to 61,065, of which 4,234 are considered active.

There are 109 active cases in the South West zone - 47 in the South West subzone 1, and 62 in the South West subzone 2.

Over one-third (35.2%) of new cases are in the 19 years and under age category.

One in seven (13.6%) of new cases are fully vaccinated.

The seven-day average of new COVID-19 cases is 444 (36.9 new cases per 100,000  population).

Of the 10, 825 variants of concern cases identified by whole genome sequencing, 7,123 are Alpha (B.1.1.7), 10 are Beta (B.1.351), 482 are Gamma (P.1), and 3,210 are Delta (B.1.617.2).

There are 7 new deaths reported, bringing that provincial total to 637.

There are 299 recoveries reported, bringing that provincial total to 56,194.

There are 223 people in the hospital - 173 people are receiving inpatient care, and 50 are in intensive care.

Of the 223 patients, 165 (74.0%) are not fully vaccinated.

To date, 1,082,355 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan.

And yesterday, there were 4,248 COVID-19 tests processed.

There were a total of 3,287 COVID-19 vaccines given in Saskatchewan, with 91 of those administered in the South West zone.

That brings the provincial total number of vaccines given to 1,511,313.

There are 714,081 people in the province who are fully vaccinated.
