When wind storms and wild fires hit southwest Saskatchewan earlier this week, Swift Current Fire Chief Denis Pilon and his department, along with fire departments, power lineman, and volunteers from across the region and province sprang into action and worked tirelessly through the night responding to power outages, downed trees, property damage...and or course battling the devastating wild fires that hit many parts of southwest Saskatchewan...and for that they all get this weeks eagle applause for Schultz's Ranch Country Meats in Morse.

Denis says he accepts it on behalf of all fire departments who were working and monitoring the situation, and power lineman as well who worked non stop across Saskatchewan to get power restored and keep people and communities safe.

Denis says everyone is also sending their thoughts and best wishes to the family of the volunteer firefighter from Walsh, Alberta who was killed battling the blaze near Burstall, as well as the family of the father and son from Tompkins who were injured fighting the fire and are in hospital.

For all you do to keep our communities and citizens safe...this weeks eagle applause is for you.
