While having some routine maintenance done on their van, the Swift Current SPCA discovered they were in need of a full set of brand-new tires.

Amy Dixon, the animal shelter's operations manager, said they reached out to multiple places around town for quotes, and got a sweet surprise from one company.

"When I called Kal Tire, she was very quick to jump on working out the details," Dixon said. "And they let me know that they'd be able to donate all four for us. So, it was a nice surprise for sure, and we did take them up on it."

The SPCA's van is vital to their operations, from bringing their rescues to vet appointments, to picking up supplies, and even frequenting highways to do so.

Dixon added that any kind of help can go a long way for the shelter, noting that it's a huge help for them to continue doing what they do.

"We do monetary donation, material donation, volunteers to come and play with the animals, walk the dogs," she said. "Also now that we're in the nicer season and the trade shows and things are coming up, it's nice [to have help] with those events; sitting at tables sometimes, maybe selling raffle tickets, or just helping sell merchandise. Really all aspects, we're always looking for help and volunteers and donations. If anybody is looking for a way to contribute to the SPCA, they just have to give us a call here at the shelter and we can kind of see what avenue we can book them."
