What started as a way to get folks in the Christmas spirit while following pandemic restrictions, is on its way to being a holiday tradition in Shaunavon.

Dana Dale, director of wellness and leisure for the town, said their annual Twinkle Tour is coming up next week.

"We have people decorate the front of their houses and their yards for Christmas," Dale explained. "Then all they have to do is take a picture, e-mail it to me [with their] address so that their house is registered for the tour."

This year, folks that register have a chance to win one of three titles:  Merry and Bright, A Disney Delight, or Holiday Traditions.

The deadline to enter a house for the tour is December 12 by 4 p.m., with judging taking place on the evening of the 14.

Bright and early on December 15, a map will be available on the Town's website with all of the decked-out locations listed for folks to view that evening. Houses participating are asked to have their displays lit-up and ready by 5:30 p.m. for everyone who drives by to enjoy.

While out on the town, folks can pop into some local businesses for evening shopping, as some will be staying open a little later just for the Twinkle Tour event.
