A tough Monday has Cabri's Shaun Meachem and Team Saskatchewan looking to rebound Tuesday in St. John's, Newfoundland at the 2017 Tim Horton's Brier.

Entering Monday's action with a 2-1 record, Team Saskatchewan, skipped by Adam Casey, lost to Quebec in the afternoon and Newfoundland & Labrador in the evening draw.

Trailing Quebec 3-2 in the fifth end of play, Casey's last shot draw slid through the house to give up a steal of three and fall behind 6-2, which they were unable to recover from en route to an 8-3 loss.

In their late game against Brad Gushue's hometown rink, neither team was able to separate from the other throughout the game until the ninth end.

Leading 6-5 and with hammer, Gushue put the game away with a score of four in the ninth to secure a 10-5 win.

With the two losses, the Regina based team fell to 2-3 at the Brier.

They will, however, have an opportunity to rebound on Tuesday, playing a pair of teams who only have one win.

At 12:30pm, Team Saskatchewan will take on Mike Kennedy of New Brunswick, who enters the contest 1-4.

Following that game, Casey's crew will go up against Ontario's Glenn Howard at 5:30pm, who has also struggled to a record of 1-4.
