Some new voices will soon be heard on the Swift Current Recreation and Parks board.

Recently, City Council approved the addition of two new seats on the board to be filled by an appointed representative from the Holy Trinity Catholic School Division and the Youth Advisory Committee.

"You could be missing a certain demographic," said Councillor George Bowditch. "They may have certain needs, certain wants, or certain ideas that they could be presenting to us that we can add to our programs."

Bowditch feels these additions will help provide a broader voice for the community on the Rec and Parks board "It's very important, I think, that everybody has a voice," he added. "There may be some concerns, some additions that we may be missing, and it's going to be very good, I think."
