The U15 Swift Current Sonic girls softball team had a successful opening weekend going a perfect 5-0 with games in Delisle on Saturday and in Swift Current on Sunday. 

On Saturday, the Sonic played three games in their opening weekend of Saskatchewan Softball League mini-tournaments. 

The Sonic started off the five-game weekend with a 17-7 win over the Parkland Predators. 

Their second game Saturday was a 24-7 win over the Battleford Bandits.

Their three set in Delisle ended with a 19-2 win over Meadow Lake. 

The Sonic returned home Sunday for a pair of exhibition games against the Moose Jaw Ice and the Gravelbourg Lightning. 

The Sonic won tightly contested game against Moose Jaw, squeaking out an 8-7 win. 

The final game of the weekend was against a familiar opponent in the Gravelbourg Lightning.

The Sonic scored 6 runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to come out on top 15-9. 

The U15 Sonic are preparing for the Softball Saskatchewan U15 B Provincial Championships in Saskatoon July 8-10. 

The B category is for communities with a population up to 25,000.
