The Source for Sports U18 AA Broncos are on the road tonight to take on the Lumsden/Bethune Lions. The Broncos sit fourth in the league’s south division with a 13-4-1-1 record and are two points back of first-place Yorkton. 

Meanwhile, the division-leading Pure Chem U15 Broncos welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors for an 8:00pm face-off at S3 Arenas. Swift Current beat Moose Jaw 7-3 in their last meeting on November 21.

Blades edge Brandon in overtime, Tigers double-up Oil Kings

Conner Roulette scored two goals, including the overtime winner, as the Saskatoon Blades got past the Brandon Wheat Kings 5-4 in other WHL action on Tuesday night. Meanwhile, Oasiz Weisblatt had a goal and an assist as the Medicine Hat Tigers beat the Edmonton Oil Kings 4-2.

Brandon visits Prince Albert and Medicine Hat travels to Red Deer tonight while the Swift Current Broncos host the Calgary Hitmen at InnovationPlex.

Marner keeps point streak going as Leafs blank Stars

Mitch Marner extended his franchise record point streak to 20 games with an assist as the Toronto Maple Leafs blanked the Dallas Stars 4-0 in the NHL last night. Matt Murray made 44 saves for the Leafs, who have won nine of their last 12 games. 

Meanwhile, Kyle Connor had two goals and an assist as the Winnipeg Jets spoiled the homecoming for Paul Maurice with a 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers. Maurice coached the Jets for nine seasons before resigning from the team last year and joining the Panthers at the start of this season. 

Out west, Cole Caufield and Josh Anderson scored seven seconds apart in the second period to lift the Montreal Canadiens past the Seattle Kraken, and Viktor Arvidsson had two goals as the LA Kings beat Ottawa 5-2. 

Calgary hosts Minnesota, Edmonton welcomes Arizona and the Canucks travel to San Jose in the NHL tonight.

Portugal routs Swiss while Morocco stuns Spain at World Cup

Goncalo Ramos had a hat trick in his first-ever World Cup start as Portugal routed Switzerland 6-1 to move onto the quarter-finals in Qatar. Ramos started the match in place of star Cristiano Ronaldo, who only played the last 17 minutes as a substitute. 

Portugal will face Morocco, who earned a spot in the quarter-finals for the first time in their history after upsetting 2010 champion Spain in penalty kicks on Tuesday. Croatia takes on Brazil, the Netherlands faces Argentina and France battles England in the other quarter-final matchups this weekend.

Court remains in session in the Bronx

Aaron Judge signed a nine-year, $360-million USD deal to stay with the New York Yankees this morning in one of the biggest signings in baseball’s free-agency period. 

Judge, who hit an American League record 62 home runs last season, will earn $40 million per season, the highest average annual value for a position player.
