Following a hot and dry summer, the City of Swift Current is continuing to ask local residents to conserve on their water usage.

Although no restrictions have been put in place locally, as there have been in other cities, residents are asked to use common sense when going through water.

City Director of Engineering, Rob Niewenhuizen, says that despite recent rainfalls, we haven't had any really significant rains to help raise water levels back to normal levels.

Niewenhuizen says some ways that residents can help conserve water, is by cutting down on watering lawns, and how often you wash your vehicles.
