The waiting is finally over.

The 2010 Winter Olympic Games start today in Vancouver, with the opening ceremonies tonight at BC Place Stadium.  Speed Skater Clara Hughes will fly the Maple Leaf and lead Team Canada into the stadium tonight.

Many believe that this is Canada's strongest team ever, with medal favourites in nearly every event.  The Canadian contingent consists of 206 athletes, including 10 from Saskatchewan.  Shaunavon's Haley Wickenheiser and Aneroid's Patrick Marleau represent the southwest.

One of the biggest questions heading into tonight's ceremony is who will be the final torch bearer and light the Olympic Cauldron.  Many people think hockey great Wayne Gretzky will have the honour, but other names coming up include actor Michael J. Fox, or Terry Fox's mother, Betty Fox.
