Is there light at the end of tunnel?

The chief trade representative of the Canadian Wheat Board says the suspension of World Trade Organization talks has serious implications for western Canadian farmers.

Victor Jarjour says the negotiations were aimed at reducing practices and policies that distort trade, and now that's all in limbo.

Some of those distortions include subsidies in the United States and Europe which Jarjour feels if were reduced, would benefit farmers in countries like ours.

Although talks have been suspended, Jarjour hopes that things wil eventually be able to get sorted out.
