As Swift Current continues to “Celebrate Canada” this weekend, there are a lot of great things to see and do around the community!
Here’s a rundown of just a few things that are happening this weekend:
Celebrate Canada Multicultural Party
Swift Current’s “Celebrate Canada” events continue with a Multicultural Party hosted by the Newcomer Welcome Centre with performers, music and karaoke.
When: Saturday, June 25 at 7:00pm
Where: Market Square Plaza at the corner of Central and Chaplin.
Cost: Free

SPCA “Pawpalooza”
The Swift Current SPCA is putting on their first ever summer “pawty” for people and their furry friends in downtown Swift Current which includes face painting, a pet photo booth, axe throwing, and a raffle table.
When: Saturday, June 24 from 10:00am to 5:00pm
Where: Zero block of 1st Ave NW
Chili Cook-off for the Center
During Saturday’s Market Square, members of the Swift Current Fire Department, RCMP and Hutch Ambulance will take part in a chili cook-off to raise money for the Center, and you can vote on who you think makes the best chili!
When: Saturday, June 24 from 10:30am to 2:00pm
Where: Centennial Market District
Cruise and Walk for a Cure
You can walk, bike or drive to help find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes, with proceeds supporting JDRF Saskatchewan.
When: Saturday, June 25pm with the walk starting at 11:00am and the cruise starting at 1:00pm.
Where: Innovation Credit Union iplex
Swift Current 57’s hosting Moose Jaw
The Swift Current 57’s play their only home game of the weekend on Saturday night when they welcome the Moose Jaw Miller Express in a battle between the top two teams in the WCBL’s East Division.
When: Saturday, June 25 at 7:00pm
Where: Mitchell Field
Cost: $12 for adults, $5 for students, $3 for children under 12
U18 57’s Doubleheader
There’s also plenty of minor baseball action happening this weekend, including a doubleheader for the Under-18 AAA 57’s as they host the Saskatoon Giants.

Cost: Free
Minor Lacrosse Playoffs
South Saskatchewan Lacrosse League champions will be decided in the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U divisions at Fairview Arenas this weekend, with the Swift Current Rampage hosting teams from Moose Jaw, Regina, Standing Buffalo First Nation, Weyburn and Estevan.
When: Friday, June 24 to Sunday, June 26

Rescheduled Soap Box Races
The Father’s Day Soap Box races were postponed by rain last Sunday, but with great weather on the way this weekend, the largest soap box races in Canada should be good to go this Sunday in Downtown Swift Current.

Where: Central Avenue North between Herbert and Dufferin Streets
Cost: Free
