RCMP seize 255 grams of cocaine & more in Swift Current bust
Saskatchewan RCMP have shared information about incidents involving a heavy police presence in Swift Current earlier this week, which saw one man charged in relation to drug trafficking. On Tuesday afternoon, Saskatchewan RCMP's Saskatchewan Trafficking Response Team and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team executed a search warrant at a residence on Sydney Street East. Police seized roughly 255 grams of cocaine, 18 cartons of unstamped cigarettes, brass knuckles, four mobile phones, a substantial sum of cash, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. An adult male was subsequently arrested on Central Avenue North around 3:30 pm. on the same day. 32-year-old Tristan Humeniuk-Francis is facing the following charges; One count of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, under Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. One count of possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000, under Section 354(1) of the Criminal Code. One count of possession of a prohibited weapon, under Section 92(2) of the Criminal Code. One count of possession of unstamped tobacco, under Section 32(1) of the Excise Act. Humeniuk-Francis had his first court appearance in Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday morning. He was released on a $4,500 bail with conditions and is scheduled to return to court on November 19. Read the full story from court here.
