Sentence still on horizon for man charged with second-degree murder
The Swift Current man charged after the suspicious death of Matthew Neufeld this past August saw his matters adjourned again this week in court. Facing one count of second-degree murder, Christopher Sean Foster attended Swift Current Provincial Court on Wednesday morning by video, although his lawyer, Maureen Schaefer, was not present. The 54-year-old shared with the court that Schaefer usually attends Broadview Circuit Point on Wednesdays. Crown prosecutor Greg Lee says that he's currently in talks with the Crown's head office in Regina, which must be completed before moving forward with sentencing. Additionally, Foster faces a separate charge of theft of property valued under $5,000.
