Myself and Kathy have just returned from a fantastic four days in Saskatoon at the Potash Corp. CCMA Music Week.
We thought we would take a moment and reflect on the good times we had.
It all started with the kick off party on the Praire Lilly boat.
While on board we had a chance to speak with the musicians in attendance about the upcoming few days and our boat trip was topped off by a live performances from a few artists including the Hunter Brothers!
We then got up very early on Friday morning for one of my favourite events, Radio Row. It was a chance to speak with a number of performers including some new up and coming artists.
Throughout the four days we met many talented performers and saw some amazing performances
At an industry lunch we even got a chance to meet George Canyon
And were present to view the premier of Brett Kissel's new music video and see him presented with a number of gold records.
I was fortunate enougth to attend the CCMA Award Gala Dinner on Saturday evening where a number of awards were presented before the big awards ceremony on Sunday evening
Coincidently at the beginning of the week I had run into a freind of mine from high school who I not seen in 20 years. Scott won the CBC CCMA Ultimate Fan Contest and was a corespondent on the green carpet as well as a presenter of the Fan's Choice Award with Blake Shelton
During the awards ceremony on Sunday evening I was on the green carpet catching the stars as the arrived, while Kathy was backstage in the media room with the artists after they presented and won.
Winners from that evening included.....
Dean Brody - Fan's Choice Award & Songwriter of the Year
Dallas Smith - Album if the Year & Single of the year
Meghan Patrick - Female Artist of the Year & Rising Star
Brett KisselBrett Kissel - Male Artist of the Year, Video of the Year & Interactive Artist of the Year
