With one week to go to Christmas, the Swift Current Salvation Army sent us an update on the Christmas Campaign.
-Christmas Hamper packing and distribution takes place this week. We will pack on Monday and Wednesday, and distribute on Tuesday and Thursday.
-As of last Monday, we were missing 131 of 227 Angel Tags. Thank you to GoldenWest radio for your help is getting our message to the public, and as of Monday, we are only missing 3 angel tags. We will of course make sure the kids represented by those three tags get toys for distribution.
-Our campaign fundraising total, as of Saturday, December 15, was $ 138,160, which is 63% of our campaign goal of $220,000. As you know, this is our primary fundraising event for the year, which in addition to Christmas activities, provides the budget requirements to run the Food Bank & more, throughout the year.
- The annual Hutterite Appreciation Day was held Tuesday, December 11. There was 120+ in attendance from the various colonies. Partner sponsors who work with the Army for this event include Pattison Ag, MNP, ScotiaBank, and Pioneer Coop.
- Kettles of course continue in various locations around the city. If anyone would like to volunteer for a two hour shift, they can call Arlene at 741-1714, or leave your name at our office 778-0515.
Thank you all for your continued support.
