With great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Rodney Alexander Bakus of Morse, SK at the age of 64 years at RUH Saskatoon on March 17, 2019, with family by his side. Rod was born on March 13, 1955 to Paulena and Heinz Bakus; he was the second youngest of five children, Kenneth, Mary-Ann, Robert and Randy. In his youth Rod excelled in the Rainbow Riding Club, 4H, Volleyball and Football, while working hard on his parent’s farm. In adulthood Rod remained very hard working and driven in his own farming operation and building his trucking company to success. With great persistence he always found a way to accomplish his goals. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing. The time at his cabin northeast of St. Walburg with family and friends was of particular joy to him. He had a great sense of humour which was with him until the end. Rod will be forever remembered and missed by his loving wife Cindy (nee Brown), daughters Pam Wills (Curtis), Cherie Wiens (Raygan), Beverley Bakus, granddaughters Jaelyn Wills and Jori Wills. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday March 30, 2019 at 2:00 at the Morse Community Hall. In lieu of other tributes, donations can be made to the charity of your choice. Our family would like to thank you all, for your kindness, friendship and support during this difficult time. In loving memory of Rodney, a memorial tree planting will be made by Jones-Parkview Funeral Services.
