Hurricanes versus Wings Game 1 March 26

The champagne is on ice... for now.

The Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes had an opportunity to win the South Saskatchewan Midget AA Championship last night, but fell 8-4 in Weyburn. The best of three series is now tied with the third and deciding game coming next Wednesday in Swift Current.

Phillip Gossard, Dalton Menke, George Hudec and Red Fritzke scored for Swift Current in a losing cause. Hurricanes Coach Tim Tisdale called it a “very” off game.

"I think it was a combination of things," Tisdale said. "Weyburn played desperate hockey. They scored on every opportunity they had, they got every bounce that they could possibly get. It was just one of those nights where everythign that could go wrong went wrong."

The deciding game is scheduled for next Wednesday in Swift Current.

The Hurricanes have yet to win on the road during the playoffs, but they're also unbeaten at home.
