Playing their final tournament of the season, the 14U boys Sundogs nearly ended it in style.

Competing in Saskatoon over the weekend at the Saskatchewan Volleyball Association Conexus Provincial Championships, the Sundogs came up one win shy of a gold medal, but managed to come home with silver.

The event got off to a tough start for the 14U squad.

They dropped a three set match to the Rouleau Rebels Black to begin their run, before falling in two sets to Yorkton.

However, from that point on the Sundogs got on a roll.

They defeated the Prince Albert Smashing Bananas Team Black in their final round robin game, putting them in a must-win third versus fourth match, and win they did.

The Sundogs got the better of the Rose Valley Volleyball Club in three sets to move on to the quarter-finals.

In the quarters, they came up against the Lloydminster Rustlers.

Once again, the Sundogs played a three set match, but managed to come out on the winning end for their third straight victory.

Competing in the semi-finals, the Sundogs came across a familiar opponent.

For the second time in the event they came up against the Rouleau Rebels Black.

Looking to get some revenge on Rouleau, they did exactly that, winning the contest in two sets (25-21, 25-8) to punch their ticket to the final.

Unfortunately for the Sundogs they wound up falling in three sets to the Prince Albert Smashing Bananas Team Gold in the final.

The final score of the gold medal match finished 11-25, 25-22, 7-15.
