A pair of early five-run innings for the Swift Current 18U AAA 57's on Sunday afternoon helped them pick up a duo of wins against the visiting Moose Jaw Canucks.

Game One

The five-run inning in the first game of the doubleheader for Swift Current came in the first inning en route to a 9-3 victory.

After that, the 57's tacked on single runs in the second and fourth innings to stretch the lead to 7-0.

The Canucks wouldn't disappear, however, getting three runs back in the top of the fifth closing the gap to 7-3, before Swift Current extended the lead in the bottom of the inning to 9-3.

Swift Current's Ethan Murdoch led the way offensively going 2-for-2 at the dish with a pair of walks and RBIs.

57's Kelsey Rokochy was the other batter to record a multi-hit outing. He also picked up the win on the mound, tossing five innings allowing three earned runs in the process.

Game Two

The second game between the two clubs was similar to the first, Swift Current would storm out to an early lead and Moose Jaw would claw back but fall 5-4.

The 57's five runs all came in the bottom of the second inning when the club capitalized on five walks.

Moose Jaw would score a trio in the fourth inning and get another back in the fifth inning but that's how the game would end.

Dawson Schultz was one of only two Swift Current batters to pick up a hit, going 1-for-3 in the contest and recording two RBIs.

57's Wyatt Harkes finished pitching both games logging a combined four and two-thirds inning only surrendering one hit and a walk.
