It may have took a couple extra nights but the Swift Current Indians officially clinched 1st place overall in the WMBL and will have home field advantage for the entire playoffs.
Brent Trask hit a three-run homer in the 2nd inning and pitcher John Snyder tossed eight shutout innings on the mound allowing only two hits and striking out ten Miller-Express along the way.
Closer Chad Jones came in for the 9th to close it off.
The Indians finish with the best record in the WMBL at 30-12. One win better than the Regina Red Sox. The Indians now get set for playoffs beginning Friday night at Mitchell Field. The Indians will match-up with the Medicine Hat Mavericks.
The other match-ups in the opening round include Lethbridge taking on Okotoks. Regina will play Weyburn and Melville meets Moose Jaw.
