An elusive third out in the top of the 4th inning proved costly Wednesday night for the Swift Current Midget 'AAA' 57's.

Hosting the Regina White Sox at Mitchell Field, Swift Current surrendered five runs in the 4th inning leading to a 10-3 loss.

Trailing 2-0 in the bottom of the 3rd the 57's were able to get on the board when Nathan McInnis scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Ayden Annala.

However, any momentum that run may have generated quickly disappeared.

After retiring the first two batters in the top of the 4th, Annala issued back-to-back walks which helped to wake-up the White Sox bats.

Three straight singles and a triple later, the 57's found themselves down 7-1 before being able to get out of the inning.

Swift Current did manage to put up a single run in both the 4th and 6th innings.

An Ethan Warkentin single drove in Quinn Patenaude from third, while Brock Wall later scored on a passed ball.

Annala took the loss on the mound for Swift Current pitching 3 2/3 innings, giving up six runs (five of them earned) on five hits and three walks.

The 57's will now switch their focus to the Regina Athletics.

They will play host to the Athletics on Saturday for two games.
