Those tracking the 57's current win streak are running out of fingers to count on.

Swift Current's streak grew to eight games in a row with a 9-3 win over the Melville Millionaires on the road last night.

Myles Miller had a big four RBI game, going 2-for-4 at the plate, while once again Ruben Rodriguez stuffed the stat sheet.

He went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, two walks, and scored four times. Nick Canas also had a two-hit night with an RBI.

Evan Pontley lasted seven innings on the mound, allowing three runs on five hits, and striking out six Millionaires batters.

Jack Ferguson and Tommy Steier each pitched a perfect inning in relief. Steier K'd up two batters for his team-leading 43rd strikeout of the season.

Last night's win was the fifth road-win of the current eight-game streak.

It also was the first against the Millionaires during the streak, the fifth and final Eastern division opponent to fall to the 57's on their current string of victories. They've defeated the Weyburn Beavers twice (7-4, 5-3), the Moose Jaw Miller Express twice (5-4, 8-4), the Yorkton Cardinals once (14-7), and the Regina Red Sox once (9-0).

The divisional success late in the season is good news as the post-season sits just nine games away, and two Eastern division opponents stand between the 57's and a bid for a third-consecutive WMBL title.

Looking for a ninth win in a row, the 57's are back on the diamond in Melville against the Millionaires, as they wrap up a two-game set tonight.

First pitch is 7:05 p.m. from Pirie Field.
