Good news on a day off for the East Division's first-place squad, ahead of round one of WMBL playoffs. For the second straight year, a member of the Swift Current 57's is taking home the WMBL's Rookie of the Year award.

Blake Adams takes home the major WMBL award after a red hot year in which he hit .360, with 12 homers and 54 RBI - both franchise records. The Tarleton State University product also racked up 18 doubles in 47 games in the regular season.

The outfielder joins 57's Catcher Bodie Cooper, not just as Rookie of the Year winners, but also 2017 First Team All-Stars. Starting Pitcher Bobby St. Pierre rounds out the First Team All-Stars.

With third baseman Riley Campbell and utility infielder Brett Esau cracking the Second Team, the 57's round out the season with five all-stars.

This comes a year after Swift Current claimed three out of four major awards (Coach of the Year: Joe Carnahan, Rookie of the Year: Bodie Cooper, and WMBL MVP: Alex Humphreys), and eight all-star selections (Liam Goodall, Alec Humphreys, Shane Dokey, Bodie Cooper, Thomas DeBonville, Bobby St. Pierre, Luke Wiechec, Aidan Goodall and Ryan Pope).
