The Swift Current 57s four-game win streak ended last night on the road. The 57s couldn't hold onto an early 4-0 lead as they fell 8-6 to the Yorkton Cardinals in the second game of a two-game set.

The 57s scored once in the second inning and three times in the third to take the lead, but the Cardinals bounced back with five runs spread over the fourth and fifth to take the lead for good.

A good sign for the 57s, at least offensively, it was the seventh-straight game Swift scored five or more runs, as more consistent bats have graced the lineup as of late.

Jerad Dokey and Dauson Tate each had a pair of RBI in the game, while Jered Binsfield had the lone multi-hit effort for the 57s.

Starter Jack Ferguson lasted just 3-2/3 innings, giving up three earned runs and three walks, but it was reliever Joey Machado who was charged with the loss, giving up four hits and two earned runs over 1-1/3 innings.

The 57s (7-9) are back home tonight hosting the Edmonton Prospects (7-7). First pitch at Mitchell Field is set for the usual 7:05 p.m.
