The last time the Swift Current 57s faced the Edmonton Prospects, starting pitcher Matt Michalski tossed a complete-game shutout at Mitchell Field as the 57s went on to win 4-0 and hoist the Harry Hallis Memorial Trophy as WMBL Champions.

Fast forward from August 2017 to last night, the 57s were back to their winning ways against the Alberta club.

The 57s piled up a dozen runs on a baker's dozen worth of hits, cruising to a 12-2 win over the Prospects.

The 13 hits came courtesy of five players posting multi-hit efforts in the win.

Leading the way was a 4-for-5 effort from first baseman Bo McClintock, who added a pair of RBI as well.

Also of note in the lineup Ben Komonosky chipped in three hits and an RBI, and Ethan Hunter had two hits, a walk, an RBI and an impressive four runs in the game.

That proved to be plenty of run support for starting pitcher Carter Buuck.

Buuck lasted 7-1/3 innings giving up two runs on six hits, while striking out eight Prospects batters. The outing lowered his ERA to an even 3.00 on the season.

Spencer Koelewyn finished off the remaining 1-2/3 innings in relief striking out a pair of batters and allowing just one hit.

The 57s (8-9) now look to reach .500 for the first time this season, and face a tough test in doing so.

Swift hosts the league-best Weyburn Beavers (13-1) at Mitchell Field tonight.

First pitch is 7:05.
