Brody Alexandre and 17U Team Sask earned their first win of the 17U Baseball Canada Cup this morning in New Brunswick.

The 17U squad moved to 1-1 in the tourney with a 2-1 win over previously-unbeaten Quebec.

Alexandre, one of two 15-year-olds on the 17U roster, went 2-for-3 in four at-bats, hitting fifth in the lineup.

He earned a hit-by-pitch in his first plate appearance, and ripped an RBI single on a line-drive to center field in his second. That run tied the game up at 1-1 in the top of the third inning.

Alexandre then hit a groundball single to center in his third appearance, and grounded out in his fourth and final showing at the plate.

The third-baseman also recorded a putout on the defensive end as well.

The Midget AAA 57s standout now carries a lofty .500 batting-average through two games of the Canada Cup, going a combined 3-for-6.

Alexandre and Team Sask (1-1) play a pair of games against Team British Columbia (0-1) this afternoon.
