Brody Alexandre and 17U Team Sask worked a fifth-place finish at the Baseball Canada Cup in New Brunswick with a win Sunday afternoon.

The Swift Current product and Team Sask won 3-2 over Quebec in the fifth-place game. Alexandre went 0-for-2 with a walk and two strikeouts in his final game of the Canada Cup.

It was the third time meeting Team Quebec in the tourney, as Team Sask worked a 2-1 record. They won the first meeting 2-1, and Quebec took the second contest by a 7-4 score.

Alexandre finishes his 17U Canada Cup experience with a .250 batting average over seven games. The Midget AAA 57's standout had five hits in 20 at-bats, ripping three singles and two doubles. He chipped in an RBI, two runs, a pair of hit-by-pitches, and two walks, adding 11 strikeouts.

He added seven putouts and an error on eight defensive opportunities, logging time at third base for Team Sask.

Meanwhile in the final, Team Ontario took the gold with a 9-5 win over Team BC.
