The Swift Current Comprehensive High School Ardens soccer team suffered a 1-0 loss to Prince Albert Carlton to open the 3A Girls Provincial Soccer Championships in Saskatoon.
The loss put the Ardens, who won their league and regional championships this season, out of contention for the provincial title. They face Regina O'Neill in a consolation bracket match this afternoon, with the winner moving on to tomorrow's consolation final.
In other High School Sports, the Shaunavon Shadows will visit the Maple Creek Redmen to wrap up the 9-man football regular season this afternoon, and the Senior Ardens volleyball team will host a 6-team tournament today and tomorrow at the Comp High School Gym.
