The Swift Current Comprehensive High School Ardens wrapped up the soccer season with a fifth-place finish at provincials, going 2-and-1 at the 3A Girls tournament in Saskatoon this weekend.

The Ardens lost their first match 1-0 to Prince Albert Carlton that put them out of medal contention, but rebounded with a come-from-behind 3-2 win over Regina O'Neill where Jade Addai scored all three goals for the Ardens. Addai and Brttney Lamontange scored for Swift Current in their final match of the season, a 2-0 win over Evan Hardy Collegiate of Saskatoon.

The Ardens finish the season with a 17-2-1 record in league and tournament play, and won their sixth-straight league championship in the process. The team will graduate just four players with 14 eligible to return next season, as the Ardens look to continue a 65-match unbeaten streak in league play, and will also host the 3A Girls Provincial Tournament.

In other high school sports, the Gull Lake Lions beat Caronport 85-27 in 6-man football on Saturday to stay unbeaten and advance to the provincial quarterfinals. The Shaunavon Shadows beat Maple Creek 50-34 to wrap up the 9-man football season on Friday and will face Kindersley in the provincial quarterfinal next weekend.

In volleyball, the Senior Ardens won gold in their home tournament this weekend while the Colts also won gold in a tournament in Moose Jaw.
