The SCCHS Sr. Ardens headed north for the St. Mary Invitational tournament in Prince Albert over this past weekend.

The Ardens started off the round robin in identical fashion to the last two tournaments, going undefeated against Centennial, Meath Park and the host St Mary team.

Re-pooled against Wynyard, Wakaw and Waldheim, the Ardens won two matches but lost to Waldheim, placing 2nd in the re-pool.

In their 1 vs 2 crossover match, the Ardens came up against PA Carlton.

Swift Current rolled to a two sets win, to advance to the final.

For the second time in the tournament, the Ardens once again battle Waldheim.

Swift Current had no issues in the first set, rolling to a 25-15 win.

However, Waldheim battled back to take second set 22-25.

In the third and final set, Waldheim jumped out to an 8-1 lead, however, the Ardens regrouped and mounted a comeback, to claim the gold with a 15-13 victory.

Swift Current has now finished in the top 4 in each of the three tournaments they've competed in this season.

The Ardens' next competition is in Weyburn on September 30th.
