The Swift Current Comp High School Ardens soccer team will have to wait a few more days to get back on the pitch.

Their match against Central Collegiate that was scheduled for Irwin Field this afternoon has been postponed due to poor field conditions. The game has been moved to Monday.

The Ardens are currently unbeaten in the Moose Jaw High School Soccer League, and they will travel to the Friendly City on Saturday for games against Vanier and Caronport.

They're coming off a third place finish at Soccerfest last weekend. They played five games over 27 hours and lost only once.

"I think we thought we would be very good defensively," said Assistant Coach Steve Mah. "That was probably confirmed this weekend. We've played nine games now and only given up two goals in total."

"When we play against those really tough teams the battle will be to create offence and we did a little bit of that this weekend."

The Ardens fell to Prince Albert Collegiate in a shootout in the semi-final before beating Yorkton 2-1 in the bronze medal match. It was one of their round robin games that really inspired the team.

Steve Mah Interview"We had a big shootout win on Friday night over Regina Campbell one of our rivals over the years," Mah said. "That was probably the most excited I've seen our team in a few years. They went streaming onto the field excited. I think it was pretty good for the confidence of the team."

The tournament proved to the team and the coaching staff that they can again compete with the best in Saskatchewan.

"Just about all the best teams in the province were at that tournament," Mah said. "To get to the semi-finals and lose in the shootout proves you're right there with the top team. I don't think we're a favourite but I don't think there is a favourite in the province right now."

"Last year we finished second in the province and it probably wasn't our best on paper team that we've ever put forth... there's no reason this team can't be there at the end. It's going to be a matter of improving and sticking together."
