The Swift Current Comp High School Ardens soccer team stayed unbeaten in league play with a big 7-1 victory over Vanier Collegiate on Tuesday in their second home match in as many games.

"All in all, we played extremely well," said Ardens coach Dale Perry. "Our passing was on point and we moved the ball around really well. If I have a fault with them we worked the ball in too tight all the time and ran out of space... but all in all, we played really well."

Ali Vance had a goal and three assists to lead the way for the Ardens, who improved to 5-and-0 on the season and extended a long unbeaten streak in league play. Perry says it speaks to the success and depth of the soccer program in Swift Current from minor teams to the high school level.

"Steven Mah and I take the program very seriously and the girls all work hard for it," Perry added. "We're carrying 23 players this year, and even though we have six grade 9s, we feel totally comfortable putting them in to play, and we don't really lose too much when we put in the bench."

The Ardens have two league matches Saturday in Moose Jaw against Peacock Collegiate and Caronport.
