In Moose Jaw over the weekend for a tournament, the Swift Current Comp Ardens senior girls' volleyball team captured a bronze medal.

The Ardens started off the tournament with a quick two-set win over Moose Jaw Central Friday afternoon and followed that up with another win in a competitive three-set game against Carlyle.

Swift rounded out the first day of the tournament with a straight-set victory over Warman Friday night.

Into Saturday, the Ardens suffered their first loss of the tournament, dropping a morning match to Caronport in two sets.

In their last game of the round robin, the Swift Current Comp side topped Kipling in three sets to place second in their pool.

A quarter-final match against Regina Riffel awaited, and proved to be a comfortable straight-set win for Swift, however, they fell in the semis to Oxbow with a chance at gold on the line.

In the bronze medal game, the Ardens edged Moose Jaw Peacock in the three-set thriller to claim the medal.

The Ardens now have the weekend off before heading to a Balgonie Greenall School-hosted tournament the last weekend of October.
