Swift Current Broncos' new netminder Stuart Skinner has lived up to the hype since coming over from Lethbridge, and that's certainly the numbers talking.

His poise and big-game experience were noted as key attributes in his game, and that was evident during the playoff-like atmosphere of a home-and-home sweep of the Regina Pats this past weekend.

Skinner stopped 63 of 65 Pats shots over the two games, wins of 3-1 and 4-1.

The impressive pair of weekend wins gave the Edmonton, Alberta native a 6-2 record since coming to Swift Current. Skinner also boasts a 2.00 goals-against-average, and 0.932 save percentage in his short stint in the southwest so far.

After spending the entirety of his WHL career with the Lethbridge Hurricanes before the early-January blockbuster trade, the 19-year-old goalie attributes the short feeling-out process to the Broncos' quality product on and off the ice.

"Yeah I feel great - it's a huge change obviously coming from Lethbridge. Just how the guys here represent themselves and how Manny does an unbelievable job as a coach, and obviously Hew and Smitty as assistant coaches, they're so good. It's really big professionalism here."

Skinner, who is also a 2017 NHL draft pick of his hometown Oilers (Rd 3 - 78), says that professionalism has allowed for good team chemistry while not losing sight of the chance at a deep post-season run.

"We make sure that when it's time to work, we get to work. But when it's time to have fun, we have fun with each other too," Skinner said. "I love it here and I'm having a ton of fun - there's nothing else you can do rather than have fun playing and living the life."

Looking for his seventh win in his ninth appearance tonight, Skinner and the Broncos host the Prince George Cougars at the Innovation Credit Union iPlex at 7 p.m.
