The Shaunavon Badgers are hoping they won't get a case of deja-vu.

They are appearing in the Provincial B senior hockey final for the fourth-straight year, but they didn't win a game in the other three trips to the final, and are hoping that changes as they open the best-of-three final series against Drake today.

"They've got a lot of ex-Junior A players, we've been told they've got three really solid lines of guys with equal talent," said Badgers head coach Jason Girodat. "They've got a really good goaltender, I think he won the Goals Against Average in their league this year, and that is a really good league, and they play really well in their own rink."

The series opener is this afternoon at 2:00pm from the Crescent Point Wickenheiser Centre in Shaunavon.

In other local hockey, the Swift Current Female Bantam Colts have captured the provincial Bantam A championship for the second straight year. They clinched the title with a 4-2 win over Estevan last night on the road, and won the two-game total-point series by an 8-3 score.
