Although not in the traditional form, the Bantam 'AAA' 57's walked-off the Regina Buffalos in Wednesday night's league final.

Hosting the Baseball Regina Bantam 'AAA' League championship game, Cash Arntsen hit a three-run home-run in the 5th inning to mercy the Buffalos 13-3 and claim the title.

"I knew I got it right on the barrel," Arntsen said. "It felt really good."

The walk-off shot was the second time in the game a 57's player left the yard, as the bats were rolling early and often.

Holding a 2-1 lead, Mac Gross stepped to the plate for Swift Current with a bases-loaded and promptly cleared them with a grand-slam over the high fence in right field.

"I was thinking fastball all the way and I was able to get a good piece of it," Gross said.

Finishing the regular season as the second seed, the 57's won three straight playoff games en route to being crowned league champions.

The defeated the Southeast A's and Regina White Sox prior to taking down the Buffalos.

"We talked at the beginning of the year about what is a big deal for us, and we always talk about winning provincials and getting to Western's, but this is really important too," 57's Head Coach Derek Murdoch said. "The fact that we were able to do this at home with our parents, friend, families and the people that support us is really cool."

Brody Alexandre picked-up the win on the mound, throwing all five innings for Swift Current.

Next up for the Bantam 'AAA' 57's will be the Bantam 'AAA' Provincial.

The event will take place from July 28-30th in Saskatoon.

A ten team tournament, Swift Current has been placed with the Regina Pacers, Saskatoon Blue Jays, Regina White Sox, and Saskatoon Braves in their pool.

"We battle the whole year and practiced really hard," Gross said. "It feels great to get it done tonight and now hopefully we can do it in provincials too."
