On the bright side for Swift Current Broncos fans, Logan Barlage showcased his talents and perhaps a glimpse into the future at the Credit Union iPlex over the weekend, however, it came at the expense of the Home Hardware Midget 'AAA' Legionnaires.

The Broncos 2016 first round pick tallied three goals and an assist on Friday, before adding another assist on Saturday as he and the Prince Albert Mintos defeated the Legionnaires 6-0 and 3-1.

In Friday's contest, Swift Current was unable to get any offence generated.

In their search for the back of the net, the Legionnaires had all 24 of their shots turned aside and went 0-4 on the powerplay.

Barlage meanwhile, had his scoring touch working.

The 6'3 forward had a first period assist, before netting a natural hat-trick throughout the second and third periods.

In goal for Swift Current, Cody Levesque suffered the loss allowing 6 goals on 29 shots.

On Saturday, the Legionnaires took the lead into the first intermission, in an attempt to change the script from the day before.

After what looked to be a scoreless opening frame, the Legionnaires took advantage of a late-period opportunity as Hunter Lamb put home his 14th goal of the season with just 43 seconds left in the first.

However, from that point on, the Legionnaires were unable to find the back of the net again, while Prince Albert made their move.

Midway through the middle frame the Mintos beat Legionnaires goalie Carter Woodside to tie the game 1-1, which is where the game stood into the second intermission

The Mintos would go on to take their first lead of the game in the third period though, and once again Barlage was right in the middle of it.

With the Legionnaires just six seconds away from killing of an Owen Ozar holding penalty, Barlage set up Kyrell Sopotyk, who beat Woodside for a 2-1 Prince Albert lead.

With the game in its final minutes, Prince Albert added an insurance goal for a 3-1 lead.

The Legionnaires went on to pull Woodside in the final minute, but they were unable to get in the game.

With the two defeats Swift Current dropped out of the top eight in the standings of the Saskatchewan Midget 'AAA' Hockey League.

They will look to work they way back into the playoff picture Tuesday night when they host the league-leading Regina Pat Canadians.
