Two dozen members of the Swift Current Barracudas Swim Club were competing in Regina at the Lawson Aquatic Centre over the weekend, and were spread out over two meets.

Seven swimmers were at the higher-level Age Group Prairie Cup meet which required AA ManSask Championship qualifying time to enter.

Six Club records were broken over the weekend:

Female 10&U:

800 Freestyle – Amryne Duncalfe (13:01.61)
200 Butterfly – Erica Saemann (4:18.04)

Female 13-14:

800 Freestyle – Elliot Duncalfe (11:00.59)
200 Butterfly – Elliot Duncalfe (3:18.23)

Male 13-14:

800 Freestyle – Griffin Duncalfe (9:54.13)
200 Backstroke – Griffin Duncalfe (2:28.83)

As well, ten top-3 finishes were achieved - all in the 13U Male Division:

The four southwest swimmers placed first in the medley relay.

The Barracudas Swim Club is now preparing for two major in-province swim meets coming in March.

The Saskatchewan Junior Championships in Moose Jaw on March 9-11 is the first of the duo, and is for all 'A' level provincial swimmers.

Meanwhile, the meet two weeks after is the Saskatchewan Provincial Championships in Regina on March 23-25. The meet is for 'AA' level ManSask swimmers.
