On Sat. Sept 17 the Redneck Betties Roller Derby team travelled to Moose Jaw to take part in the Deadly Doubleheader at the Hillcrest Sports Centre. The Betties played a team from Estevan/Weyburn, the Hillbilly Hurt. The Betties got back in the win column with a 172-60 victory. The team had solid play from all 14 team members and, more importantly, stayed injury-free. Our new jammer, Funerolla, in only her second bout, was selected as the game MVP. The second bout featured the hometown MJ Jawbreakers against the Gapland Rollers from Rocanville. In an extremely close and well-played match, the Jawbreakers got their first ever win with a narrow 154-151 decision.

On Sept 3, the Betties played in the Labour Day Smash Up in Regina at the Callie Curling Club. The Betties took on The Gravediggers, a squad made up of vets & rookies from Regina. The Gravediggers built a huge lead at half-time, leading 82-45. The Betties rebounded and actually outscored the opponent in the second half, but unfortunately, came up short, losing 154-118. Top Betties  player was jammer Bashful Button. The loss evened the Betties  record at 2 wins and 2 losses.

Next action for the Betties is in Rocanville against Gapland on Sat Sept 24.
