Legionnaires VS Blackhawks
Blackhawks' goalie Shaemus McLeod turned away 41 of Swift Current's 42 shots in Sunday's win

It was a tough weekend for the Home Hardware Midget 'AAA' Legionnaires.

Hosting the Beardy's Blackhawks for a pair of games, the Legionnaires were only able to earn one of a possible four points.

In Saturday night's game, the Blackhawks gave Swift Current trouble for majority of the first and second period.

Beardy's took a 1-0 lead in the first and then added two more goals in the middle frame, while out-shooting the Legionnaires 22-11.

Swift Current turned it on in the final period, however it turned out to be too little too late.

The Legionnaires got on the board with eight and a half minutes remaining as Tyler Pryhitka found the back of the net.

Just over three minutes later, Rin Beny registered an unassisted goal, cutting the Beardy's lead to 3-2.

That would be as close as Swift Current would get however, as Beardy's would put the game away, scoring with just fifty-five second remaining to win 4-2.

In Sunday's contest the Legionnaires got off to a much better start as Ethan Regnier opened the scoring just under two minutes into the game.

Following the Legionnaires goal, the opening frame continued as a back and forth affair with both teams unable to convert quality scoring chances.

With just ten seconds remaining in the first period though, the Blackhawks evened the score 1-1.

Despite a total of 43 shots being fired, neither team was able to find the back of the net against, sending the game to overtime.

In overtime, the Legionnaires registered the first three shots, unable to get any of them by Blackhawks' goalie Shaemus McLeod, before Beardy's won the game on their first shot of the extra frame.

The 2-1 overtime loss extended Swift Current's losing streak to five games.

The Legionnaires will be back on the ice Saturday night when they travel to Saskatoon to battle the Blazers.
