The Brandon Wheat Kings held on for a 5-4 win over the Swift Current Broncos in a game that had the fans fired up at the officials.

The Broncos fell down 2-0 and 3-1, but were able to battle to the end,  only to fall short 5-4. It was a game where Brandon was able to score right after a Bronco goal to steal the momentum back.

Fans were frustrated with the officiating for most of the night as Brandon was awarded eight powerplays, including two lengthy 5-on-3 advantages.

Justin Dowling scored twice, while Brad Hoban scored once and added two assists.  Derek Claffey also scored.  Rookie Adam Lowry added three assists.  Morgan Clark took the loss in goal.

It was only the third home-ice defeat for the Broncos, who are now 12-11-0-2 on the season.

The Broncos play in Kootenay on Saturday night in their next game.
